The Hussman School of Journalism and Media

Nicole was able to transfer credits into the Hussman School of Journalism and Media as she enrolled in the Dual Degree Program in Environment and Science Communication her senior year of undergrad. This program is where she worked towards her M.A. in Media and Communication.

During her time as a graduate student, Nicole mentored new graduate students at UNC through the graduate student mentorship program. She also took part in weekly graduate student social hours introducing out-of-state students to new places in and around Chapel Hill.

During Nicole’s time as a graduate student at UNC, she had wonderful opportunities to work with clients via co-op educational experiences and added some amazing classes to her belt. She continued her internships from undergrad throughout her time as a graduate student, with some internships turning into continued job experiences.

For her thesis, Nicole was able to receive guidance and mentorship from a fantastic committee. Her thesis committee comprised Dr. Hee, Assistant Professor Lisa Villamil, and Dr. Hester, her thesis chair.
