HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Who would’ve thought I’d meet my future husband my freshman year in my very first class recitation?! I remember his first words to me were, Hey Ecuador, from across the room. He thought I was from Ecuador because of my t-shirt and summer tan. Even our first messages to one another were in Spanish… I didn’t know how to tell him I wasn’t fluent, but was sure my Google-translated messages would give it away!

Picking a last-minute Communications class turned out to be one of my best choices at UNC. I remember first seeing Nicole and instantly knew I needed to get to know her. Thankfully it took little convincing for her to be my project partner for the semester, and I got to spend much more time with her than I thought I would.

Felipe & Nicole
Nicole and Felipe met at the beginning of their first year at UNC. Nicole started as a freshman, and Felipe started as a junior at their shared alma mater. They met in a communications class and would soon spend more than just class time together. From late nights at the dining hall, going to basketball games, and a hurricane vacation, these two quickly fell for one another. Their time at UNC was just the beginning of their story! They have now moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida together and look forward to what’s around the corner after saying, I do.
